Karen C. Karn
Karen earned a Bachelor of Interior Architecture Degree from the University of Oregon and is a professional member of IIDA, the International Interior Design Association. Karen has been certified through the National Council for Interior Design Qualification, NCIDQ, since 1997. Karen achieved LEED Green Associate in 2013.
Between 1993 – 2003 Karen’s business experience includes interior design and project management in several Portland design firms. Previous to that, seven years of experience working as an intern and project manager for two firms in San Francisco, CA. Synthesis Interior Design is certified as a Women Business Enterprise (W.B.E.) by the State of Oregon. National Women’s Business Enterprise Certification (WBENC) was granted to Synthesis Interior Design in 2013, by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council.
Over the past decade, Karen has provided volunteer hours, design assistance, expertise, and leadership in various roles to the following organizations:
