Karen C. Karn

Karen earned a Bachelor of Interior Architecture Degree from the University of Oregon and is a professional member of IIDA, the International Interior Design Association. Karen has been certified through the National Council for Interior Design Qualification, NCIDQ, since 1997. Karen achieved LEED Green Associate in 2013.

Synthesis Interior Design was established by Karen C. Karn in 2004; the office is located in Sellwood, a neighborhood in southeast Portland, Oregon. Prior to forming Synthesis, Karen worked as a project manager/associate in several Portland design firms and in San Francisco, California.

Community Involvement

Through the years, community involvement has been in different capacities for a number of organizations. Current volunteer work includes serving on the Infrastructure Committee for WeShine, www.weshinepdx.org, as an elder at Westminster Presbyterian Church, www.westprespdx.org, and numerous officer roles in a local chapter of PEO International, www.peointernational.org.
